Designing a Love Story

Daniel and Ben's love story is a deeply personal one for me. I had the pleasure of watching their love blossom into one of the most epic love stories. This power couple's love story unfolded at Ryerson University, where they discovered a shared passion for refashioning perceptions of masculinity, strong female vocalists, and fine design.

Along with a full suite of custom wedding stationery, the couple wanted to design a monogram that represented their relationship; a custom logo mark that would embody their commitment & love for one another. Here were some of the original concepts:

The design process began with rough compositional explorations in pencil.

By showing the couple early process work, we were able to brainstorm & experiment together. They loved the concepts in which the letters were "embracing" each other, so we ran with that concept and experimented with various filigree styles.

Beauty is in the details- and it's often gold embossed.

The chosen monogram was emblazoned on menus, the head table, the couple's wedding cake, and even the food cards at brunch the next morning. It was truly the pièce de résistance.
